Joe and Joe Mitchell share the same concerns about municipal solid waste and its effect on the environment. They have spent the past seven years traveling globally investigating various waste recycling and diversion technologies. We have gained a world of knowledge in material recovery of recyclables and energy production from the complete waste stream.
Joe has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. He has an extensive background in the boiler industry with over 40 years of experience in all phases of the boiler and combustion industry. He has a broad knowledge of combusting various biomass and MSW. He has experience in system design including sized and selection of equipment, installing and commissioning mechanical systems. He has owned and operated sales and service companies in the boiler industry. Joe’s strengths are his combustion and boiler knowledge and his experience in all aspects of business operation.
Joe was formerly Director of Maintenance at the Southwest VA Higher Education Center in Abingdon, VA, and Associate Professor at the Highland Community College where he taught Energy Technology and Electrical Technology. He is a Solar PV installer and general contractor. Joe has various degrees from US Air Force, Virginia Highland College, UT Chattanooga, and ETSU. Joe served on the Board of Supervisor in Washington County, VA. Joe has an extensive background in system controls and computer systems, project management, and general contracting. Joe’s strengths are his strong electronic and computer background from system design, installation, and servicing.
Mr. Drewery within the past five years has performing development services as a consultant working with large commercial and industrial clients on implementing cogeneration and renewable projects. He worked for Saudi Aramco is to manage the implementation of $1.5 billion third party cogeneration projects to support four existing oil processing facilities in Saudi Arabia.
In addition, Mr. Drewery has more than forty years in the power industry working in central engineering and construction for some of the largest utilities in the country; Entergy, Duke Power and Constellation Energy. The power experience includes construction and operational experience in multibillion dollar projects, nuclear power, fossil power and natural gas combined cycle power plants. Owners engineer during the construction and startup of the largest surface coalmine in the USA.
He was responsible for development and management of multimillion dollar renewable, energy efficiency and outsourcing of utility infrastructure projects in the industrial and commercial markets. While working at Veolia Energy and Constellations developed over $500 million worth of successful cogeneration projects and the Nashville Thermal district heating/cooling plant. Mr. Drewery has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Virginia Military Institute and an MBA from Loyola University.
